Pharmacology Department

Aim: The aim of Teaching Pharmacology to undergraduate students is to inculcate a relational and scientific basis of Therapeutics.

Objectives

  • To introduce students to advances in Teaching Technology, Computer aided learning for Research & Developments in field of Pharmacology.

  • Evaluate factors such as safety, Suitability, cost of medications / appropriate approaches to rationally treat a patient during clinical practice.

  • Apply Pharmacological knowledge regarding contra indications, Drug Interactions, over the counter medicines, Poly pharmacy about prescribed medications in the Pharmacotherapy of primary care situations.

  • Conducting of programmes for patiently safety in India, Monitoring of Adverse Drug reactions

    • Pharmaco Vigilance Programme of India - PVPI
    • Materiovigilance programme of India - MVPI
    • Haemovigilance Programme of India – HVPI
    • Adverse Events Following Immunization – AEFI
